A New Phone Maybe?

We are techie couple as my MIL describes us, we wanted her to be equipped with the latest gadgets. We got her an ipod nano as her Christmas present to replace the old one and she loves it! Our next step is to upgrade her phone, we've been showing her our phone features but seems like she is not convinced yet but we are getting there. The booboolinas are determined to get her more high tech from ipod, cellphone, laptop, ipad and who know she may love them like we do.

In the past 2 years hubby and I changed cell phones many times already and I am looking forward to upgrade soon. I wanted to get one that has better picture quality, I bet you know what I wanted.

My Life Saver

This is not what you think, a lifesaver candies and sweets? Nope not at all! Look at the picture on the left, that is my life saver last Wednesday afternoon. A hydraulic-pipe! I thought it was a quarter parking meter but no it was the hydraulic pipe it the term for his is really a big pipe but the picture can tell you what I am talking about.

At around 630pm on that day I sms my hubby that I'm ready to meet him at the BART station which is 2 blocks away from my bldg. When I came out of the bldg it was not too busy, I was walking behind this woman when suddenly we heard 3 cracking sound and breaking glass then a lot of screaming. When I looked to its direction I saw these 2 cars crashing towards us, my instinct and guardian angel saved me, I grabbed the woman and we hugged each other then we heard a very loud sound of BRAGGGGG!!!! When I looked up I saw the driver of the first car to my my left looking at me, he wasn't moving and when I look in front of us the other car wrecked its front in half on this big pipe. We were standing on that 2 squares, still on shocked I saw the liquid dripping from the front and back of the 2 cars, I was hallucinated that it will blow up.

If that blows up, I'll be on fire heck yeah I do not want to die ugly so I ran as fast as I can. When I reached the BART and saw my hubby, all I did was hugged him and I cried like a baby. I realized life is too short, it will be taken away from you in an instant. If it's your time, it's your time no matter where you are. I'm just thankful that it was not my time yet, I can still spread my love and "brattyness".

Cozy Vacation Home

One of our goal is have a cozy home in suburb where we can be free from city noise and traffic once in a while. We preferred to have a log house closer to the beach if possible at least overlooking to the beautiful mountains or beach. We wanted to design the interior and exterior of the house from the balcony, kitchen living room and all the furniture. It would be nice to match the house with log furniture both in and outside, for me I wanted the patio to have a love seat with a coffee table for relaxation.

I have been looking for these types of houses for retirement and I found some in a perfect location and place overlooking the lake. All we need to do is save up for this, where would this be? In the beautiful and cool city of Tagaytay. Our next trip home, I will take my SO to this place for him to check it himself and evaluate if he would like it. If everything turn out in place this would be a vacay home then retirement in the future.

2010 Christmas Cards

I had a hard time thinking how to design our holiday greeting cards this year, the time is running so I have to rush to finish them all. We send out photo cards every year to our friends and family, this year seem hard to find a good family photo but I was able to make one. Labels were printed with Santa design and the envelopes were also stamped. Our Christmas Cards are going out tomorrow, hubby wrote our message to make it more personalized, I did not let him have dinner until he's done.

Christmas, although we are not having a big season this year we are excited that Mom is going to spend her holidays with us. Today, we decorated our little tree, hang our stockings and no presents under our tree. You read it right, we opened them all out of excitement!

Errands for Sunday

Our plan for today is relaxing day after grocery shopping, but something came up this morning. Oh yeah, I'm glad my hubby opened my present for him in advance or else we wouldn't know it was defective. I had a hard time looking for this coffeemaker as he wanted the same as our old one, but it turned out not so good. I'm glad I did not toss the invoice yet so we can bring it to the store for exchange. We are not sure though if they are selling it in store but it's worth a try. Return the defective one to get credit and order a new one.

On the other hand, I am planning for a small get together party in our house hopefully this weekend. Time to meet new friends here in CA, gosshhhh I've been here for 8 months and haven't had a girly get together yet, except from work. I used to be good in networking friends from online but since I started working, it was just hectic.

I Believe in Herbal

My younger years was spent in a place far from the city so whenever we get sick we try the home medication through herbal. We grow different kinds of herbal plants, a simple life yet healthy living. My grandfather used to tell me that no need to take this medicine or that, just pick up some herbal in the garden and you will be fine, that is the life in the province. Which in most cases is true, besides most of our medicines are made of herbal plants. I think about future and my goals, will consider herbal colon cleanse to keep me healthy. Anyway, technology makes our lives easier almost everything is a result of high technology, from small things to big, from actual herbal leaves to a supplement pill, it's just amazing what technology can do. While we are young we should take care of ourselves for when we grow older we remain healthy.

I Love New York!

New York! I will come visit you one day that is sure in my list! I know I had chances to visit NY when we were in DC but I think not the right time yet. When hubby had conference there he stayed in one of the hotels on 5th ave and it looked gorgeous! He showed me his suite via web cam after his conference.

I wanted to stay in the luxurious hotel in NYC at least once in a lifetime, I would love to experience that. Just like when hubby had a burger that cost about $100 bucks which I can't figure out what makes that burger so special to cost that much. Why do I want to visit NYC? Hahha, you do not need to ask me, there are tons of things to do in NYC, on top of list are the statue of liberty, ground 0 and shopping!

The Other Woman

I'm sure I was not alone who experienced the LDR, 4 yrs ago when hubby and I were on an LDR I nagged him who was with him in the car. I told him, you have other woman! Guess what that other woman was my favorite when I got here, we missed her calm voice directing us. Do you know what I'm talking about? Yes, it's the GPS! Our old car had a built in GPS that helps us wherever we go.

When we got our new Audi 2010, GPS is top of the features, we did not get the same voice as the old audi other woman but the gps is 3d and more dimensional. How about those older model cars? That is not a problem because there are many portable gps to get. During Black Friday sale this is such a hot cake in many stores but you may want to check garmin gps reviews first so that when buy one you already know what you wanted to get. It's very helpful for people like me who do not know how to read the map quest. I like it it when they tell you where the heavy traffic so we can take the other route.

The Gadgets!

After the funny wish list, time to think about the real ones. I know these are only material things but we have wants and needs. It's a little pricey and I am not expecting to get it this season but I will make sure I will get one and trying to save for this. I love pink that is for sure!

I found this in tigerdirect, I'm not a pentax fan but heyy it's pink and 12MP is not that bad. Getting this cam at this time is not a good time, I feel bad but it's okay there are more important things than this camera and it can wait.
Hubby wanted to have an Ipad, well the smallest memory is quite affordable but that one will not work for him so I need a little more time to get the 64GB, I may not get it this Christmas but I will try my best to get it for our anniversary/birthday.

Hubby got XBOX Kinect for our family room! It made me feel better that even though we are not getting what we really wanted but the spirit of Holiday Season is within us. This is our bonding game, we play together through the high tech motion of this microsoft innovative product.

Another Cancer

Our work environment plays a major role in our life from being happy to being ill. If we get sick due to work related activity we are entitled a compensation from the employer. I am lucky that I do not deal with hazardous things at work anymore. I feel bad to those who are prone to asbestos which is very risky to their health. Asbestos can cause a cancer and Mesothelioma lawyer can assist you to file a claim when you think you were prone to asbestos that caused the illness. This was like a case of Erin where the people in the community was affected by chemical from a manufacturing company. Health is very important, as we always say we'd rather be poor than being sick.

Goofy Santa Letter

I know I was just being goofy when I posted my wish list in my FB wall just to add spice with all my friends status. My FB is set to privy but I'm sharing it here.

A letter to Santa: Dear Santa, I couldn't ask for more, I have my hubby, family and friends who love me the most and unconditionally. But I think I've been a good girl who deserves a little treat from you, check my wish list below:

A nice LV purse, that will fit in your sack, please may I remind you to knock in the door I will open it for you. Don't take the chimney you may get stuck and suffocated, we dont want that. If you can't afford the LV, coach is an alternative a little affordable so I will still take that.

Oh do not forget the IPAD if you give me an IPAD I will wrap it nicely and give it to my hubby because he's dying to have one (see how nice I am, I share things) But please do not complaint, if you are really broke a nice pair of chanel sunglasses would be fine because I already have my No5 perfume. Since my perfume is sad, it would be great if you will give it companion you know a set of Elizabeth Arden collection would be great!

See Big Santa, I am not a brat I just want little things but hey you know I'm longing for a tiffany set jewelry but that can wait, goossshhh Santa I know you are coming from North Pole, please make sure you dont forget my wish list.

Ohh gossshhh Santa I almost forget, yay a SONY DSLR camera too, you know I wanted to take photography class and I want the best camera to make my snaps most perfect.

But Santa, I know I am too much I would love to have peace in the world and hope those families who have nothing on their table on XMAS eve will have something to make them happy. I'm not selfish Santa, I do wish for other people too but you know I cant afford to feed them all so please make a way for them to have a Merry Christmas.

Let's make our life colorful, life is too short let's all have fun and make every day the most. I am not perfect but I am perfect to be me, a goofy wife, grumpy sometimes but hubby enjoys every day being my SO and so as our dog.

The Beauty of Art

My favorite subject in school was Art! It does not mean I am artistic but I love this subject as you can create your project based in your own creativity and ideas. I thought art is all about drawing and painting but when I work in the university that's when the reality about art set in. Each of us is an artist, like myself when I play around the website codes that is called computer arts and designs. How slow I am not to think about almost everything is based on arts. Why do I want to take a photography class? That is simply because taking pictures is not only a hobby for fun, but there is something more behind it.

I know it's expensive to take the class but I want to take advantage of it, when I saw the prices of those great DSLR cams, I told my SO am changing my mind. Surprisingly, he said you like it who knows you will be a professional photographer someday. Many things spark in my head of course! I visualized my own gallery and every office décor would be my personal art work. Who knows it maybe realized one day when I am ready to run my own shop.

Another Rainy Day

It's been three days and the rain hasn't stop yet. I am not fond of rainy days as it makes me feel blue. That was one of the reasons why we decided to move out of WA state as there were weeks that the sun never showed up or should I say months? I thought this weekend would be sunny, have tons of things to do today, getting our tree, bath the dog and do some work in the yard. My little meat is not protective at all from rain and cold and my only solution is to bundle up.

It's the layer time of the year, thermal, sweater and top plus coat then tights, pants and a nice pair of boots. I used to be a not so fond of boots person but that was one thing Seattle has taught me. I have my riding boots, fashion boots, winter boots and my rain boots. They all come in different styles, mid calf, high heels, over the knee and such. Today, my rain bootie is my best of friend for the rainy weekend. My collection is not enough yet, am still on the hunt for more booties but since it holiday season I set aside my personal shopping.

The Name Tag

What makes me busy these past few days? Browsing! Yes browsing my fb friends photos! I am so happy for my friends, she now in her second level in her career. She is in her final steps in achieving her dreams, she seems happy with her new colleagues. They looked so happy in their pictures but their name plates caught my attention, they have their names and in few more months they will be certified as LVN.

I remember when I was working in the hotel with my name tag. I still have it until now in my souvenir box, whenever I open my little treasure box it made me smile. The different memories set in and how I made friends.
